From a young age I was interested in the creation and ability of intelligent systems of many forms. This was largely because I was always watching Transformers: Robots in Disguise as a child. It is essentially about machines that could see, talk and interact with their environment just like regular humans. It was fascinating. That cartoon set me on the path of becoming an electrical and computer engineer. From there I delved into topics such as Control Systems, Sensors, Electric Machines and Signal Processing and Machine Learning.

I had limited knowledge about Machine Vision until my final year as an undergrad. The applications of this area of research astounded me, especially it applications in Augmented Reality. I was lucky enough to have join the RCVLab lead by Dr.Greenspan to pursue research in this field.

The goal of my research was to automate the calibration process of PROCAM (projector-camera) Systems. We were successful in creating a technique that is easier to implement than current techniques such a Zhang’s method while achieving high levels of precision and accuracy.
