I am currently completing my third year of an undergraduate degree in computer engineering at Queen’s University. Over the summer, I am working as a research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Greenspan, on a research project funded by NSERC’s undergraduate student research award. This assignment gave me the opportunity to learn material and technical skills that I would otherwise not have acquired in the classroom. I am also gaining valuable research experience and getting a glimpse of what graduate studies would be like. This research is giving me a potential starting point for my capstone project and eventually my graduate research.
My current research is focused on bin picking, where our goal is to use machine vision systems and a robotic arm to accurately sort parts.
